The Dark Light is a Hudson Valley based trio that performs and records music with a focus on harmony, strong melodies and narrative lyrics. Their sound developed from the combination of Ben Senterfit’s powerful songwriting, rhythmic acoustic guitar and vocals, Josh Colow’s atmospheric lead guitar and vocals, and Kristen Latteri’s luminous harmonies.
The band grew out of a collection of unusually dark songs — written by Ben Senterfit during a difficult chapter when he first arrived in the Valley. Combined with a collection material written by their favorite songwritiers, the group's harmonies and appetite for the darker side of a lyric have combined into a sound that is equal parts haunting and alive.
